Bio-gas Power Plant
Pertamina Power Indonesia carried out various initiatives related to the development of Renewable Energy, including the installation of Biomass/Gas power plant in various regions in Indonesia.
Biogas is formed naturally when palm oil liquid waste (POME) is decomposed under anaerobic conditions. Without control, biogas is a major contributor to global climate change. Biogas power plants take advantage of the natural decomposition process to generate electricity. this waste produced during the production of palm oil is a large energy source that has not been widely used in Indonesia. Turning POME into biogas can produce energy while reducing the impact of global climate change. (Winrock International, 2015: 5)
